We are making very good progress. Bugfixing is working fine and so we hope to release Beta 1 in one or two weeks.
Current progress:

some new apps : FileZilla and Giver
bugfixing menu : removing unnecessary entries, bring back the preferences direct menu accessadd Epiphany Extensions, getlibs for automatic install 32Bit Libs on 64Bit Systems(and 32Bit)new wallpaper (at least it looks better then the old one, perhaps we can get some even better one)lots of updates and security fixes for underlying systemadjust look and feel of KDE applications (see screenshot)

Beta 1 will be hopefully be a first public release.

I am making some progress on the menu and the top panel. The mixer-applet is still buggy but the menu looks better then ever.  

Here is some stuff intended for Test 8.

Todo:

- make jfs the default filesystem in the installer
- include some cool wallpaper
- include HyperConverter (Video Converter for testing only)
- rearrange xfce4 panel to look better as long as we don’t have any good replacement for the ‘Deskbar’
- update the installation instructions and include it in Test8 plus a shortcut on the desktop
- include a link for the ‘ubuntu-switcher folge 2 - Installation’-Video for an easy step by step walk through
- including latest updates for core software (without kernel so far because this needs a total recompile, kernel updates itself after installation)
